Holy Family Memorial earns 'Rising Star'

MANITOWOC — CareTech Solutions, an information technology and Web products and services company, has recognized Holy Family Memorial with its "Rising Star" award, presented to clients that use IT to significantly improve the quality of patient care while reducing costs.

HFM joins only five other hospitals nationally to gain the recognition. In 2009, HFM became one of the few health networks achieving Stage 6 on the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model Scale. Only a handful of US hospitals have achieved Stage 6.

"This underscores Holy Family Memorial's strong commitment to improving patient care in their community through information technology," said Ed Bauknecht, CareTech Solutions client executive. "It is a convenience for both provider and patient, as it put the secured medical files and picture archive system (patient X-rays and MRI) right at their fingertips.

"This reduces paperwork, but more importantly, reduces duplication and speeds up diagnosis and treatment," Bauknecht said. "It's a convenience to the patient, as well as a valuable tool to the provider, improving patient care."
