You may search by name of name of business, state, type of practice or type of exclusion.

This free site contains licensing background, malpractice, criminal conviction and desciplinary information regarding health care practitioners from state government licensing boards.

Federation of State Medical Boards
This site provides phone numbers, mailing addresses and Web addresses for all state boards and 13 state boards of osteopathic medicine. For a fee of $9.95 per report, consumers can search disciplinary histories regarding specific physicians.

Health-related frauds and myths
This company operates a growing list of websites aimed at combating health-related frauds, myths, fads and facilities including dental, homeopathics, chiropractic, and nutrition. This site includes reports on actions by federal and state agencies. This organization is affiliated with the National Council Against Health Fraud, which also distributes a free weekly E-mail newsletter.

*Disciplined Physicians

Questionable Doctors - Misconduct
This site contains data on doctors disciplined by state medical boards and federal agencies in 13 states over the past ten years including criminal convictions, mis-prescribing drugs, sexual misconduct, medical incompetence, ethical lapses and other offenses. The fee is $10.00 per month for a three-month subscription and ten reports. However, you can search a doctor's name before you have to pay. You can also search alphabetically by a doctor's last name or by the state in which the disciplinary action was taken.
